At our practice in Konyaaltı, Antalya, treatment for teeth grinding (bruxism) and jaw joint (TMJ) problems starts with a thorough examination. Teeth Grinding and TMJ Treatment Process

Treatment is planned according to your situation. A custom night guard (splint), muscle-relaxing treatments and, when needed, an injection treatment for the chewing muscles can be part of the plan. Our aim is to relax your jaw muscles and reduce the pressure on your teeth.

Comfortable and Balanced Jaw Structure

Excessive clenching of the jaw muscles is prevented.
Wear on the tooth surfaces is avoided.
Pain and clicking in the jaw joint are reduced.
Tension in the head, neck and face eases.
Jaw movements are rebalanced.

If you wear your night guard regularly and keep up with check-ups, problems caused by grinding can be brought under control. Early treatment also helps prevent more serious jaw joint problems.

With treatment, the balance of your jaw muscles improves over time and your complaints ease. The guard and treatments used also keep the process comfortable.

Treatment for the Chewing Muscles

One of the most common causes of teeth grinding is an overactive chewing muscle (masseter). While a night guard protects the teeth from wear, an injection treatment for this muscle temporarily reduces its strength and eases the pressure on the teeth and the jaw joint.

The treatment is a short procedure at our practice and its effect fades gradually over a few months, so it is repeated at regular intervals for lasting relief. We plan the dose and injection points according to your facial structure and muscle strength, so your expression does not change. As the chewing muscle relaxes, the jawline can also look more balanced.
